Look Closer: Lamplight Lounge in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park

"Not only does this new dining location offer table-service dining, gastro-pub cuisine and panoramic views of Paradise Bay, but Lamplight Lounge also serves as a tribute to Pixar storytellers—and in typical Pixar fashion, is full of special references and insider stories. Let’s take a closer look!

This stylish restaurant is inspired by the artistry and creativity of Pixar animators over the years. Renovated from an old warehouse factory, Lamplight Lounge boasts cool architectural elements like concrete and exposed brick walls that reveal its storied past—all while creating an airy, bright and eclectic ambiance. Guests will be excited to see a trove of Pixar treasures sprinkled throughout the California casual décor, including concept art, napkin sketches, knick-knacks, collectible toys and other mementos “left behind” by the filmmakers."

A secret room, fusion food and Instagram-worthy desserts at the new Pixar Pier

"On June 23, Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park opened to the public. Annual passholders and Disneyfood lovers rejoiced to hear that the Pier’s signature lobster nachos will continue to be served at the Lamplight Lounge.

The new eatery, which replaced Ariel’s Grotto, now features a hidden dining room decorated with hand-drawn sketches of Disney Imagineers and illustrators. Brown leather booths, dark red walls and antique boardgames help to create an intimate, club-like atmosphere.

To enter, a cast member will escort select guests through an unassuming service door that leads to an industrial looking hallway. There, an imposing safe door adorned with Edison-light bulbs and a metal wheel marks the entrance to the hidden dining room."

Disneyland Resort Update – Pixar Pier Opens To Massive Crowd

"Saturday the 23rd was the official opening day for Pixar Pier (Media were invited on Thursday the 21st and Friday the 22nd was a special paid event).  Would the crowds arrive for opening day?

And once Disney California Adventure opened at 9am, it seemed that everyone flooded directly into Pixar Pier . . . and most specifically into line for the Incredicoaster."
