In this episode we go on a virtual tour of Disneyland during Christmas time. We worked at Disneyland during the 90s, and 2000's in Custodial we had the chance to work in all the different areas of Disneyland. This was great because we were able to also experience the different music that was changed in the areas for the Holiday season. Enjoy this tour, plus the latest in the Disneyland Resort Current Events. Merry Christmas!!!

New security screening locations in effect at the Disneyland Resort

"Disneyland Resort has opened new security screening checkpoint next to the Mickey & Friends parking structure, the ESPN Zone, and an access way from the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

Now, after parking in the Mickey & Friends parking structure, visitors will go through the security screening process in the tram boarding area, before boarding the trams.

For those entering from the Downtown Disney parking lot, they will pass through screening stations near the ESPN Zone, set up in the area that used to be the valet parking station.

Visitors staying at the Disneyland Hotel, or the Paradise Pier Hotel, or other area hotels near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Disneyland Drive, will go through screening stations set up between the Earl of Sandwich shop and the ESPN Zone."

Disneyland update: New security checkpoints, 'Star Wars' progress and holidays on view

"Regular visitors might have noticed all the construction happening near the parking structure, and on both sides of the ESPN Zone. New tents, metal detectors and fencing have appeared for these security screening areas. Once the new checkpoints are in use, the current westside security screening area will be dismantled, making it easier for visitors to go from theme park to theme park, and into Downtown Disney."

"Some businesses along a one-block stretch of Harbor Boulevard have raised serious concerns over Disneyland’s Eastern Gateway Project, a massive proposal that would dramatically change how visitors coming from the east get into the theme park."

Anaheim business owners air issues with Disneyland bridge, company vows to collaborate

"Local entrepreneurs again voiced concerns over the effect a proposed parking garage and bridge to the Disneyland Resort would have on their businesses, this time in front of the Planning Commission on Monday evening, while Disney officials struck a collaborative tone – stressing their willingness to find solutions to their counterparts’ worries.

Further underscoring the work still to be done to appease hotel and restaurant owners over access to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure is that the city announced it is pushing back a scheduled Jan. 23 meeting to approve a permit for the bridge. A new date has not been set."

Disneyland Resort Photo Update: The Holiday Crush

"Preferred Parking

Did you notice the new parking option at Disneyland? You can now request a “Preferred Parking” spot for $35. That’s nearly double the price of regular parking. All that gets you is a spot closer to the escalators. That’s a lot of money just to save a few steps.

Securityland

Fast and furious changes have been occurring at the Disneyland Resort to create a larger security bubble which will cover Downtown Disney as well as the entrances to both theme parks. While these are clearly temporary structures, the rush seems to be to get them up and functional in time for the New Years Eve festivities.  Even for temporary facilities, this new security setup is quite ugly. Disney is fully capable of creating temporary venues which look quite nice (RunDisney and the various DCA festivals do it all the time). Hopefully a more elegant permanent solution won’t be too far behind."
