Show Notes for Episode 200 !!

200th Episode Celebration

In this episode we celebrate our 200th episode. We have worked hard over the past almost 6 years. Lynn started the podcast in 2011, and it grew over the years and has shaped and formed, but always remained about Disneyland, and working there too. We have had so many awesome guests over the years from Disney Legends, Authors, Cast Members, Former Cast members, Podcasters, and more. We have had such a wonderful time with the show, and hope to have many more. In this episode we have the Disneyland Resort Current Events, messages from fellow friends and podcasters, the history of The Sweep Spot, questions from listeners, and more. Join us for the celebration.

'Tears of joy' in crowd as Main Street Electrical Parade rolls through Disneyland once again

Thursday night [January 19th], it made its return. And a flood of nostalgia overwhelmed guests."

Here's what you should expect in the new 'Guardians of the Galaxy' ride

"Like Tower of Terror, the ride takes visitors up and down. But Rohde said the Guardian ride will have a faster pace and feature “multiple” programs. Rock and roll music, some from the movie, will play overhead.

"'No ride will be alike,' Rohde said. 'There will be multiple combinations.'

"The ride will have the same capacity as Tower of Terror and about the same time, maybe 2 minutes, he guesses."

[There are plenty of details, if you don’t mind spoilers.]

Which rides, features shut down when it rains at Disneyland?

"All the water from the sky is having an impact on the Rebellion’s construction of “Star Wars” land as it turned much of the area into large water puddles and muddy ponds -- so the Correllian (yes, that’s a Star Wars reference) were given a few days off.

"Crews continue to demolish the House of Blues building in Downtown Disney to clear the space for the construction of the Splitsville Lanes and Restaurant that will appear there later in the year."

Disneyland adds Fastpass to mobile app; Matterhorn, Toy Story Mania to get Fastpass capability

"The new system, referred to as a “Disney MaxPass,” will enable visitors to use the Disneyland app on their smartphones to get a Fastpass digitally – after they have entered one of the theme parks for the day, and only that day.

"It will not allow visitors to book their Fastpass reservations in advance, Disneyland officials said.

"It will also follow the same rules as the paper system, in that only one Fastpass can be obtained at a time, with a time delay before the next one can be gotten. It will also still be a first-come, first-served process.

"But there’s a catch to use the new Disney MaxPass: it will cost visitors money – $10 per admission ticket per day. The price for those with existing or new annual passes has not yet been determined, according to Disneyland officials, adding that it includes Photopass."

Disneyland Photo Update – Trader Sam's Rumors, Electrical Parade & Star Wars
Published on January 16, 2017

"We just caught word of a possible Trader Sam’s Expansion. It sounds like the popular bar will soon close to expand the indoor seating area. This would come at the expense of the Tangaroa Terrace. The Kitchen would remain, but the Tangaroa Terrace would be folded into Trader Sam’s to allow for more seating inside.most of the food would still be available, and the old Tangaroa space would receive the same enhanced decor that Trader Sam’s currently has.  We hope this rumor is true. Trader Sam’s is a smash hit and never has enough seating. Tangaroa Terrace on the other hand, while wonderful, was rarely busy. This sounds like a slam dunk. Same food, better theme, more indoor seating."
